That when Gawker posts something vile, the best thing you can do is not click on it. You don’t pay to use Gawker, which means you are not the consumer. You are the product, and you are being delivered to advertisers. Granted, your individual click doesn’t make much difference in the sea of clicks, but just like voting, that’s how it works. Vote with your click.

On the other hand, Shulthulhu doesn’t have much ad stuff riding on him, so every time he appears in the sidebar, click that puppy. Because it’s funny.

It’s also nice to see Natasha Vargas-Cooper being classy as ever...
“Natasha Vargas-Cooper, senior reporter for Gawker affiliate Jezebel, also defended its publication. ‘Stories don’t need an upside. Not everyone has to feel good about the truth. If it’s true, you publish.’ ” Source

The unfortunate part of all this is that we, on OL and Jalopnik, are helping to feed the same monster with our clicks here.
I'll probably be posting something on that in a bit.

I love the fact that even USA Today provided the archived link so if people want to read it, they won’t be providing clicks to Gawker. Such a subtle “fuck you” from USA Today.

Except now your post is making me think “I wonder what’s on Gawker that he’s talking about and I should go find out.”

Why has no one invented a camera phone that records in landscape mode no matter how it is oriented?!?!

I had eggs for breakfast today. Still waiting for Gawker Media to publish that truth.

TL:DR: Conde Nast’s CEO, which is Tim Geitner’s brother, hired a gay porn star escort. Escort leaked the info.

The tldr he provided was good except the escort blackmailed him trying to get his hud case to Obama and gawker protected the identity of the blackmailer

They won’t publish until it comes out the other end. They have standards to uphold, you know.
